Overview
Operational Supply Chain Manager required at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust, based at Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle. The role provides leadership to the Operational Supply Chain Team, including Materials Management Assistants across ward and theatre areas, with management responsibility across Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle and West Cumberland Hospital, Whitehaven. The postholder will hold super user rights to key systems (NHSSC, Atticus Stock Management System) and provide training support across both wards and theatre departments.
Main duties
* Provide a high quality logistics service and oversee materials management/back office support for the supply chain function.
* Manage day-to-day running of the supply chain service to maintain high service levels.
* Line management of staff across two acute sites in all areas where materials management is provided.
* Develop and manage requirements and development activities including:
* All aspects of staff management (annual leave, sickness) and reporting in line with Trust Policy
* Training and development
* Service development in line with NHS and best practice

Qualifications and experience
Essential:
* 5 GCSEs including English and Maths (Grade C or above)
* Degree or diploma level graduate (CIPS or procurement-related) or equivalent experience
* Purchasing and/or logistics/supply chain experience with team management in a Trust or large organisation
* Understanding of Public Procurement Law
* MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and data analysis capability
* Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and people-management skills
Desirable:
* Supervisory/management qualification
* NHS/government sector experience
* Advanced Excel; risk management and Health & Safety awareness
* Strategic planning and change leadership experience
