Primary SEN Teaching Assistant (Full-Time, Term Time Only) Start Date: ASAP Location: Doncaster (DN9) NextGen Teachers are seeking to recruit a dedicated, compassionate, and resilient Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Primary school in Doncaster starting soon as possible for a long-term contract. This is a full-time, term-time only position, working closely with a child in Year 5 on a 1:1 basis, supporting both SEN and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs. This role also involves covering breakfast club and therefore th working hours are 7:45am - 3:45pm with an hour lunch break. Therefore the daily rate for this position is £100 per day. Role Overview You will play a key role in supporting a pupil's academic progress, emotional well-being, and social development throughout the school day. Working Hours - Monday to Friday - 7:45am - 3:35pm - Includes responsibility for supporting and supervising Breakfast Club each morning from 7:45am - 8:45am before starting the 1:1 SEN Support role Key Responsibilities - Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN and SEMH needs in Year 5 - Implement strategies to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour - Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to deliver tailored support plans - Assist with adapting learning activities to meet individual needs - Support the pupil's social interaction and inclusion within the classroom - Supervise and engage pupils during Breakfast Club - Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews and meetings as required The Ideal Candidate Will Have: - Experience working with children with SEN and/or SEMH needs - A calm, patient, and empathetic approach - Strong communication and teamwork skills - The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families - A proactive attitude and willingness to adapt to changing needs - Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential If you are available ASAP Monday - Friday from 7:45am - 3:45pm and have experience working with SEN children recently, please apply directly to the advert and one of our team will be in touch.
