Description

Fabricate/weld steel products and accurate running of the Cloos Robot Systems in line with customer specifications, ensuring thatlead times are met, engineering drawings are followed (where relevant) and quality standards are adhered to at all times.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Welding of crusher main frames and other sub-assemblies
2. Accurate and efficient running of the Cloos Robot System (full training will be given)
3. TIG dressing on main frames as required
4. Shotblast
5. Read and interpret engineering drawings, particularly welding symbols
6. Be responsible for own quality and process checks to maintain standards
7. Comply with current and future Health and Safety laws, processes and procedures
8. Any other duties as deemed appropriate to the role
Experience and Qualifications:
9. Time served apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications
10. Experienced in welding within a heavy engineering environment
11. Experience in multi run welding
12. Overhead pendant operated crane license (preferred, but not essential as full training will be given)
13. Slinging training / license (preferred, but not essential as full training will be given)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
14. Motivated self-starter with an eye for detail
15. Ability to work within a team
16. Ability to use own initiative to problem solve
17. Ability to drive improvements
18. Ability to meet given targets
19. Knowledge of H&S procedures & responsibilities
20. A knowledge, ability or skill in the use / programming of robotic welding equipment would be advantageous.
21. Conversant with all types of grinding, sanding and cutting tooling whether air or electrically driven.
22. Ideally time served apprenticeship, and with more experience in fabrication/welding of large parts and an understanding of engineering drawings and being able to work to within tolerances.
