Responsible to: QC Manager Duties/Responsibilities: Electrical inspection against engineering drawings, procedures and documentation of Thyristor & Contactor Control Panels products during all stages of manufacture, checking Panel design criteria identifying and bringing to the attention of the Engineers and Technical Director or QC Manager any potential problems, as appropriate. To carry out the staged and final inspections of sub-assemblies and completed Panels against designed system specifications and Client requirements. Carry out stage checks of completed doors, back plates and sub-assemblies of Panels prior to being fitted on the enclosure. Ensure that all route cards are completed to the correct stage before the sub assembly is moved on to the next stage. Produce and present punch list for all remedial work and ensure that any works carried out are captured on the relevant Route Card. To perform final inspection following test (by others) of control panels, ensure the correct interface with the associated heater design where applicable and authorise for release once successfully validated. Processing of inspection data – hard and soft copy records. To produce detailed and accurate inspection records and assist in resolving any resulting issues. Provide advice to peer group on quality related matters and ensure agreed quality tasks and objectives are completed. Liaising with Engineers, Production Supervisors and production staff as appropriate to discuss and resolve any issues arising regarding control panels and associated activities. To support and aid the training of any trainee/new staff as required. Carry out returned Panel inspections and compile necessary reports. To work in accordance with the Quality and Health & Safety Management systems meeting the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001. Inspection of incoming products to ensure consistency and integrity. Inspections to include, but not limited to: - dimensional inspections to design drawings for form, fit & function (using a tape measure, callipers etc.), electrical circuit resistance, coating thickness & condition, PMI. Material and works test reports for traceability and compliance with order specifications To process and communicate with external providers any rejections and corrective action reports relating to incoming products. Other work as required as part of the Quality Control team. Complying with all standards, internal policies and specifications that apply to the finished product. To support panel test engineers during client FATs – Onsite and remote Essential Skills and experience required: Minimum of 2 years Quality Inspection experience / design &/or manufacture of control systems. Thorough understanding and use of standard measuring equipment. Ability to read engineering drawings. A good eye for detail A methodical, reliably systematic approach to work A keen approach and willingness to learn Good computer literacy. Desirables: Knowledge / experience of the inspection of electrical / mechanical products within an Oil and Gas/ Petro-chemical / Pharmaceutical environment. An understanding / knowledge of IEC 61439, IEC 60079-1, IEC 60079-7, IEC-60079-14 ATEX standards. Internal training will be provided to the successful candidate. Key Interfaces: Technical Director : To carry out regular (monthly) 1 to1‘s to assess current workloads, issues, project status. To assist in the allocation of resource to suit project changing requirements. QC Manager : To attend meetings as requested to do so and to assist as directed. Engineers: Liaise with Engineering staff relating to issues arising from inspections and testing. Panel Bay: Liaising with Design Office staff and help aid resolving any issues or technical queries during panel inspections and checks. Dispatch: Communicating with despatch staff so to avoid delayed release of panels. QC / QA: To provide training, guidance and assistance in allocation of resources as requested by Management. The Employee shall devote the whole of his/her time, attention and skill to his/her duties hereunder and in addition such other duties as may from time to time be reasonably required of him/her for the proper and efficient running of the Employer’s business.
