Overview
This is a fixed term locum NHS post for a Consultant in Cardiology with interest in coronary intervention. The appointee will join a team of Cardiology consultants across University Hospitals Northamptonshire (UHN) based at Kettering General Hospital (KGH) and Northampton General Hospital (NGH). UHN aims to expand towards becoming a nationally recognised centre of excellence, with a major capital investment including a dedicated cardiac MRI scanner already operational at KGH.

Qualifications
* GMC Registration
Desirable
* MD, PhD
* Inclusion on Specialist Register or to be within receipt of CCT within 6 months of interview
Knowledge/Experience
* Essential: Wide experience in General Medicine and Respiratory; Able to take full and independent responsibility for patients
* Desirable: Previous experience of working at consultant level
Teaching and Research
* Essential: Actively encourages research with junior and other MDT staff; Experience of participating in clinical audit and clinical research; Experience in organising and delivering teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level
* Desirable: Publications in peer reviewed journals; Presentations at national and international meetings
Qualities
* Essential: Be able to listen and communicate effectively to patients, relatives and staff; Be able to work within a multidisciplinary team; Have organisational and management ability; Be prepared to work in collaboration with colleagues in the NHS and other agencies; Ability to apply research outcomes
* Desirable: Demonstrate a willingness to take on additional professional responsibilities; Experience of service development; Development and implementing clinical guidelines
