We require Adult (General) Nurses to work in our Inpatient units and within our community teams. The Trust also has an Out of Hours night service which require Staff Nurses. You must have a current NMC registration and a minimum of 6 months experience post registration. You will be caring, compassionate, motivated and enthusiastic, as well as having a keen interest in patient care and possess good communication skills. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate all aspects of patient care using clinical reasoning skills. Assess patients’ holistic needs, communicating complex and sensitive information to patients and/or carers as to their assessment and treatment plan. To be sensitive to patient needs in respect of courtesy, dignity and privacy. Provide information and education, which enables patients to make choices about adopting a healthier lifestyle (in an appropriate manner to meet patients learning needs). Where there are barriers to understanding, such as hearing impairment, mental capacity impairment and other difficulties in comprehension, explanations require adjustments in order to gain understanding, consent and concordance. Liaise with GPs, Social Services, inpatient teams, community teams, other allied health care professionals and the voluntary sector to ensure identified needs are met and care co-ordinated appropriately. Ensure own workload is planned and prioritised according to service targets and patient need. Ensure informed consent is obtained prior to initiating interventions. Recommend innovative changes in clinical practice, to enhance patient care. Ensure the safe control and custody of drugs within the workplace in line with Trust policy.
