Rapier Employment are recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers (C+E) to join a leading high-street supermarket distribution operation based in Erith and Dartford. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure ongoing, well-paid work with a nationally recognised logistics brand, offering consistent shifts and long-term stability.
Pay & Benefits

The Role
13. Delivering chilled and ambient goods to a major supermarket store network
14. Operating from modern, well-maintained vehicles
15. Minimal manual handling – primarily trunking and store deliveries
16. Working within a 24/7 operation with flexible shift options
Shift Patterns & Hours
17. Preferred pattern: Friday to Monday (4 shifts)
18. Optional 5th shift available
19. Flexible shifts across a 7-day operation
Start Times:
20. AM: 03:00 – 08:00
21. PM: 17:00 – 02:00
Shift Length:
22. Typically 9–15 hours
Pay Structure Example
Pay is calculated based on hours worked within each rate band.
Example shift:
10:00 – 23:00 (13 hours)
23. 4 hours at Day rate
24. 8 hours at Back rate
25. 1 hour at Night rate
Requirements
26. Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
27. Valid CPC (DQC) and Digital Tachograph Card
28. Minimum 6 months Class 1 driving experience
29. No more than 6 penalty points (no DR, DD, CD or IN endorsements)
30. Right to work in the UK
31. Professional, reliable, and positive attitude
Assessment Required:
32. Theory test
33. Yard manoeuvre
34. On-road driving assessment
