Role & Responsibilities
* The Health, Safety and Environmental Manager will ensure that the HSE strategy is developed and deployed in conjunction with the overall business strategy.
* The HSE manager will instigate and maintain environmental permits as required along with fostering a proactive operational safety culture.
* Develop and implement the company's health, safety and environmental policies.
* Oversee environmental permitting of all sites.
* Conduct regular site audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
* Engage with the staff across the site to build a positive safety culture and gain buy in.
* Provide staff training on health, safety and environmental practices.
* Conduct Toolbox talks, site walk arounds, and adopt a hands on approach to HSE.
* Investigate incidents and near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
* Develop, maintain and/or deploy a HSE management system (including objectives, processes and support) that meet the requirements of relevant Operational Framework and International HSE Standards such as ISO45001 and ISO14001.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
* 5 years of experience post-qualification applying HSE knowledge and processes in work-related situations.
* A track record in the implementation of ISO standards 14001 & 45001.
* A hands-on approach to Health, Safety and Environmental issues.
* Experience of internal safety inspections/audits.
* People management skills and experience ensuring a positive HSE relationship with employees.
