We are seeking an outstanding and inspirational Art and Design Teacher to lead our highly successful DT and Art Department, following the retirement of our current Team Leader. This is an exciting opportunity to guide a thriving and high‑performing department with exam results consistently above the national average across all subject areas. The role sits within a local authority maintained secondary school that has recently benefited from refreshed, forward‑thinking leadership.
The successful candidate will be an exceptional classroom practitioner with a strong track record of delivering Fine Art at GCSE, as well as contributing to the broader Art & Design and Design Technology curriculum. Excellent subject knowledge, creativity, and the ability to engage and inspire students across all key stages are essential.
At GCSE, we currently offer AQA Fine Art, Graphic Communication, and Textiles Design. Our wider provision includes Photography, DT, WJEC Hospitality and Catering, Level 1 BTEC Home Cooking Skills, and the AQA DT Unit Award. The department is exceptionally well‑resourced, comprising 9 teaching staff and 3 experienced technicians, all contributing to a broad, ambitious, and future‑ready curriculum.
