Main duties of the job We have an opportunity for an experienced administrator to join our small and friendly established midwifery-led pathway administration team. The team support with the smooth running of our admin-led self-referral pathway for women and birthing people who self-refer into the Maternity Service at the start of their pregnancy journey via the online BadgerNet system. You will be responsible for processing the referrals received, organising the initial booking appointment with a midwife and providing portal access to the BadgerNet system for women and birthing people. Excellent attention to detail, with good organisation and communication skills are essential for this role as you will be working within key gestation timeframes to ensure timely appointments are made. Other duties will involve general administration tasks including supporting with telephone appointment queries and stock ordering on the Oracle Procurement System for our community midwifery teams. Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities We are looking for a dedicated, flexible individual who will be able to demonstrate a supportive, caring and empathetic approach to women, birthing people and families accessing our service. You will be a team player, with proven experience in a fast-paced service, able to embrace fresh ideas and engage with change positively. A good familiarity of Microsoft M365 software, including MS Teams, is a must. The role is based within the Princess Anne Hospital, Monday – Friday, with flexibility around working hours and with the opportunity of some home working once trained. Person specification Qualifications, Knowledge And Experience Essential criteria Good standard of secondary education with literacy and numeracy skills demonstrable to GCSE pass level or equivalent standard. Either- Level 3 qualification in administration/ customer service or equivalent experience Or- Vocational Level 2 qualification in administration/customer service or an equivalent level of experience. And Experience as an administrator or secretary in an organisation with a customer focused environment And Able to use judgement to make decisions in order to solve problems/enquiries some of which are non-routine and not straight-forward Knowledge and experience of secretarial or administrative procedures Experience as an administrator or secretary in an organisation with a customer focused environment Desirable criteria Knowledge of medical terminology Courses / further study attended to demonstrate evidence of personal development.
