We are looking for GP to join our friendly team to support our practices and patients on a 9 month maternity contract. We are open to discussing number of sessions available and there may be opportunity for a further role after this fixed term.
Wimborne & Ferndown PCN provides services to 42,000patients across 4 Practices (Quarter Jack Surgery, Walford Mill Medical Centre, Pennys Hill Practice, Orchid House Surgery). We have adoptednew roles within the PCN to support and broaden our primary care team whichallows us to provide better care for our patients.
The PCN is headed by our committed Clinical Directors and aPCN Manager. We also have an Admin team whosupport the overall network team and services.
In addition to the PCN, our Practices are also part ofCastleman Healthcare, a non-profit company owned by 13 GP Practices in NorthPoole and East Dorset (3 PCNs). Castleman Healthcare offer additional servicesto our Patients through separate contracting arrangements, provide business andpractical support to the PCNs and support with representing the PCNs voicewithin the wider healthcare system.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a GP to join our friendly team and run clinics in each of our 4 practices. You will be embedded into the clinical team and gain knowledge on how each of our practices operate to provide the best level of care to our patients.

Job responsibilities
Provide medical services for the PCN population toa high standard, including day-to-day activities such as surgery consultations,telephone advice, telephone consultations and appropriate administration toensure accurate records, patient continuity and quality of care.
Comply with the requirements of the practicesGeneral Medical Services/Personal Medical Services (GMS/PMS/APMS) contract,Enhanced Services contracts, educational/training delivery contracts andprivate contracts.
Adhere to the principles of good medical practice.
Provide high quality medical services to patientsregistered with the practice.
Provide a full range of services in line with therequirements of the GMS/PMS/APMS) Contract and Enhanced Services Contracts.
Refer patients as appropriate and in accordancewith local procedures.
Undertake duties such as prescription signing,prescribing reviews, telephone advice, duty doctor, in accordance with the rota
Undertake clinics, post-natal checks, childdevelopmental checks as agreed or required.
Manage long-term conditions in accordance withpractice and national clinical guidelines.
Prescribe generically and in accordance with thepractice formulary.
Provide appropriate health promotion advice to allpatients
Ensure good clinical governance is part of patientcare and other practice activities.
Adhere to all practice guidelines, policies andprocedures
Practice evidence-based medicine.
Take ongoing responsibility for patients withdifficult and complex problems including consistent follow-through.
Participate in audit and quality improvementprocesses.
Maintain clinical records (manual/electronic) inline with good practice and in accordance with practice procedures includingappropriate coding as agreed in the practice.
Maintain administrative records in relation toGMS/PMS/APMS) contract, enhanced services contracts and QOF including coding.
Work in line with agreed practice procedures andprotocols
Contribute to the practices clinical governance andquality activities including clinical audit.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* MRCGP
* General Practitioner CCT (Certificate of completion of training)
* Full GMC registration
* Registration with National performers list
* Eligibility to perform in the UK independently
Experience
* Experience of working in primary care
* Experience of continued professional development
* Experience of QOF
* General understanding of GMS contract
