Join to apply for the Principal Clinical/Counselling Psychologist role at Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. This is a new permanently funded position which provides the opportunity to lead and develop the psychological provision for the Psychiatric Liaison Service at Frimley Park Hospital.
Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Psychiatric Liaison services provide high quality mental health care to working age and older adults across emergency departments and acute wards within the acute general hospitals. We are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative and committed person to develop this new role and to provide a range of evidence-based assessments and interventions to people using the service. We are welcoming applicants from a range of clinical backgrounds, given the varied nature of liaison work.

Responsibilities
* Have a varied caseload with a wide range of working age and older adult clients presenting with functional and/or organic problems across the hospital.
* Provide direct assessments and brief evidence-based interventions, working closely with the Liaison MDT and physical healthcare colleagues to embed psychological skills in treatment of patients in hospital wards and A&E.
* Develop the psychology offer within the hospital in consultation with service leads.
* Provide professional leadership and supervision to Trainee Psychologists within the service.
* Work with other senior leaders to continually innovate and improve the service.
* Receive clinical supervision from the Lead Consultant Clinical Psychologist for Psychiatric Liaison Services.
