Band 5, Full-time, permanent

Medical Physics Clinical Technologist - DEXA

We are looking to recruit a Clinical Technologist or Radiographer (AfC Band 5) to join our DEXA team based at the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh.

The team provides bone densitometry (DEXA) scanning for the diagnosis of osteoporosis and monitoring of treatment. DEXA scans are performed on ~7000 patients/year, with patients referred from primary and secondary care.

As part of this team, you will perform scans and analyse bone densitometry (DEXA) studies for the diagnosis of osteoporosis and the monitoring of treatment. The service houses 3 Hologic scanners, the successful candidate will be given full training on how to use this equipment.

You will have a degree in a relevant subject and be willing to undertake a formal training programme to be able to perform DEXA scanning. You will have experience of working with patients, preferably within an imaging context.
