As a Senior Data Analyst, you’ll play a critical role in enhancing authorisation performance across the enterprise. You’ll work with cross‑border teams to analyse structured historical data, identify trends, and deliver actionable insights to optimise payment processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Primary focus on descriptive and diagnostic analysis of historic structured data to understand performance and root causes.
* Use tools such as Excel, SQL, Tableau, and Power BI for statistical analysis and reporting.
* Monitor and analyse data sources and metrics to detect changes in authorisation performance across the enterprise portfolio.
* Develop dashboards and visual reports with optimisation recommendations.
* Provide business requirements and actionable insights for portfolio resolutions, supporting operational decisions and stakeholder engagement.
Areas of Impact
* Own the responsibility for identifying and resolving the biggest authorisation issues, including dashboard creation, data interrogation, and impact tracking.
* Collaborate internally to submit issues for resolution, track success, and refine the operating model between teams.
* Use analytics and insights to identify areas for improvement, bottlenecks, and opportunities in authorisation issue investigation.
* Establish robust impact tracking to demonstrate programme achievements to senior leadership.
* Facilitate the exchange of feature requests between authorisation and tooling teams to support continuous development of monitoring tools.
* Support the development of a knowledge codification library and cross‑team learning calls in partnership with key stakeholders.
* Develop a deep understanding of the payments industry and authorisation pathways.
* Apply strong analytical skills to investigate complex matters and contribute to the investigation approach of the team.
* Demonstrate leadership, communication, and project‑management skills.
* Understand the requirements for engineering ticket submissions and convert business requirements into product stories.
* Be flexible with working hours as required.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent experience in Statistical Analysis, Reporting & Business Intelligence Tooling.
* Strong knowledge of the payments industry and IT technologies.
* Desirable but not essential: broad knowledge of Worldpay products and related services.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences, including executive, management, and individual contributors.
* Excellent problem‑solving and time‑management skills, willing to share knowledge and expertise with others.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

* Existing connections within the Worldpay business that enable new cross‑business collaboration.
* Knowledge and experience with different platforms (e.g., WPG, VAP, NAP) and merchant profiles.

Worldpay’s Authorisation Rates team is focused on improving authorization performance globally. The team proactively identifies the biggest issues affecting our authorization performance using dashboards, proactive analysis, and RM submissions, prioritises the most important issues, and owns the investigation and resolution.
