Full Time: 37 hours per week (there are a range of hours available)
Working hours: A mixture of early, late and weekend shifts
Salary: £23,672.40 per annum + excellent benefits
Here at Shropshire Community Leisure Trust our goal is to get more people, more active, more often. To deliver those services takes an enthusiastic and customer focused team - and right now we are looking to recruit for a Senior Lifeguard to join our leisure centres in a range of contracted hours.
As the Senior Lifeguard, the purpose of the role will be to work within the centre whilst ensuring customer safety and high standards of service and customer care. You will be reporting to the duty manager and in the duty manager's absence, the successful candidate will be managing the facility and ensure all activities are delivered to a high standard.
Furthermore, you will be involved in supervising specific activities, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, and working on the safe handling and set up of equipment.
Without you there can't be any pool activity. But you won't be working alone. Our leisure centre has a close knit and supportive team, all working towards providing an inclusive leisure hub for the entire community. Serco manages these facilities on a day-to-day basis on behalf of the Trust.
Responsibilities
* Provide excellent customer service and interact with customers across all ages and backgrounds.
* Supervise activities, maintain high standards of cleanliness in the pool area, and ensure the safe handling and setup of pool equipment.
* Assist in delivering activities to a high standard and, when required, support safety and rescue as a lifeguard.
* Support the duty manager and, in their absence, help manage the facility and operations.
Qualifications and requirements
* Strong swimming skills and safety-conscious attitude.
* Excellent customer service skills and ability to engage with customers in a leisure or other customer-facing environment.
* Desirable: National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (Royal Life Saving Society) or equivalent.
* Ability to work under pressure and handle pressurised situations.
