Applications are invited to apply for the exciting opportunity of Trust Doctor (Clinical Fellow) in Gynaecological Oncology at Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust.
RSFT and St Luke's Hospital combine a specialist cancer centre and general hospital and are located in Guildford, Surrey, within 45 minutes of London's Heathrow and Gatwick airports, with excellent road and rail links. The hospital is situated within the University of Surrey Campus, which is an international university renowned for excellence in teaching and research.
The Gynaecological cancer centre is the largest in KSS and offers a comprehensive range of treatment options for all aspects of Gynaecological oncology, including chemotherapy and radiotherapy, with an active specialist gynaecology oncology MDT.
RSFT is an internationally renowned training centre for minimal access surgery and is the largest centre for robotic surgery in the UK. The Gynaecological oncology team has pioneered the use of robotics for managing endometrial, cervical, and ovarian cancers in the UK and has an excellent reputation for education, training, data analysis, and research.
The centre is recognized for subspecialty training by the RCOG. Previous holders of this post have used this opportunity as a stepping stone towards significant career progression and achieving their career goals.
Main duties of the job
This is primarily a junior clinical post with some exposure to surgical procedures in theatres. The appointee will be involved in pre- and post-operative medical care and assessment of patients, including fitness for surgery and liaison with other MDT members.
This post is aimed at a hospital doctor interested in pursuing a career in Gynaecological oncology; however, it is a non-training Trust-funded post.
