Are you a midwife with a passion to support women on their maternity journey in the community? Then we would love you to come and join our team at St Peters. Here at St Peters our Community Midwifery teams have various working pattern opportunities to support you to work within our supportive and friendly community teams. We want you to be able to provide antenatal care, support the homebirth service and provide postnatal care to the birthing population & their families whilst maintaining a good work life balance.
We want to empower you to practice in an autonomous manner, managing your workload to deliver person‑centred care to women and their families to meet their individual needs. You will have a close relationship with your team and will work in partnership with external agencies and the wider multidisciplinary team.
As a community midwife you will have the opportunity to support and educate women around birth choices and ensure they have up to date evidence‑based information to help guide their decision‑making process.

You will lead and co‑ordinate the clinical activities of the midwifery team in their area particularly in line with Government initiatives and Trust Strategy. You will demonstrate leadership by participating in the restructure of community and homebirth services: influencing, empowering, motivating and supporting staff. You will be responsible for the performance management of those in your team.
As part of quality improvement initiatives you will review clinical incidences and initiate action to minimise risks within the service. You will also be expected to work as manager on‑call/bleep holder within your role and be part of the community on‑call rota.
