About the Role:This role is ideal for anyone studying their SQE/LLPC part time. You will work on real commercial matters, supporting with construction contracts that underpin major projects across the UK. This isn't just filing and administration, you will support with researching legal terms, interpreting legislation, and speaking directly with clients about their contractual rights and obligations.The role will sit with the contracts team where you will:
1. Draft amendments to standard construction contracts (JCT & NEC forms)
2. Review supplier agreements, subcontracts, and warranties
3. Prepare contract summaries and risk matrices for internal stakeholders
4. Support contract negotiations with clear, commercial advice
5. Research construction law developments and case law updates
6. Interpret Construction Act provisions
7. Analyse contractual terms and advise on practical implications
8. Prepare briefing notes on complex legal issues
9. Handle telephone and email enquiries from clients on contract interpretation
10. Explain legal concepts in plain English
11. Participate in client meetings and contract negotiations
12. Build relationships with repeat clients and understand their businesses
13. Contribute to improving contract templates
Applicants must be:
14. Currently studying Legal Masters LPC/SQE or recently completed LLB (2:1 or 1st Class Hons above preferred)
15. Some previous legal experience
16. Excellent written English with ability to draft clearly and concisely
17. Strong analytical skills - ability to spot issues and think commercially
18. Confident communicator - comfortable speaking with senior clients
19. Excellent research and presentation skills
