About The Role
You will be responsible for the financial management and reporting of the organization. You will lead on the charity’s year-end accounts, ensuring financial statements are prepared in line with the latest SORP requirements, and liaising directly with external auditors.
The main responsibilities include:
1. Managing the accounts department for efficiency and effectiveness.
2. Ensuring sales and purchase ledgers are accurate, other income is recorded correctly, profit and loss reports are provided monthly, management reports quarterly, and year-end closing is timely.
3. Managing banking arrangements for supplier payments, income collection via direct debits and online payment gateways.
Salary & Benefits
Salary: Grade 7.1 (Rest of country) £45,829/year full-time equivalent. Pro-rata between £14,798 & £19,731. Annual increments are subject to satisfactory performance.
Contract: Permanent
Hours of work: Part-time, 12-16 hours/week, usually 4 hours/day over at least 3 days (typically Wednesday and Thursday in line with Accounts Clerk hours).
Annual leave: 25 days/year plus statutory bank holidays pro-rata, plus an extra day for your birthday. After 2 years, an additional day, up to 30 days total.
Pension: NEST scheme with 5% employee and 7% employer contributions.
