Location: Birmingham
Hours: 40 hours per week
What will you be responsible for?
As a Project Manager, you'll support the management of construction sites to achieve project delivery aligned with customer objectives, while maintaining health and safety, quality, environmental standards, and cost control. You will be responsible for delivering projects to the specified quality, schedule, and financial targets, working closely with the Senior Construction Manager, management team, designers, subcontractors, and Programme Manager to ensure safe completion and customer satisfaction.
Your day-to-day will include:
* Overall responsibility for the successful delivery of projects in the electrical (Lighting & Signals Upgrades) sector within Birmingham City Council areas.
* Ensuring work is delivered to the specified quality standards without defects.
* Leading site supervisors and subcontractors to deliver work safely, environmentally compliant, and to the required quality, including the production of project plans, RAMS, ITPs, and other safe systems of work, in line with Kier procedures.
* Maximising the commercial performance of the contract by working closely with the Programme Manager to mitigate delays and costs.
* Producing procurement schedules and coordinating with the procurement department to ensure adequate resources are available for tasks.
What are we looking for?
This Project Manager role is ideal if you have:
* Experience in County Council and inner-city electrical asset projects in a highly regulated environment, with the ability to motivate and lead site teams and contractors to high compliance standards.
* Good knowledge of electrical specifications, testing regimes, and relevant regulations such as CSCS (Site Manager), SMSTS / IOSH Managing Safely. Ability to challenge designs and resolve issues effectively.
* Experience managing subcontractors valued up to £5m, with skills in safe systems of work, contract conditions, CDM regulations, design management, programme, and risk management.
