IT Infrastructure EngineerLocation: Wakefield (Hybrid)Salary: £28,000 - £32,000
Are you an experienced IT professional with a passion for infrastructure, security, and support? We’re looking for a proactive and skilled IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our client’s dynamic team. You will play a key role in supporting and evolving the Group-wide IT systems and services, ensuring exceptional technical support and robust infrastructure across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver 1st & 2nd line technical support, ensuring high levels of customer service and prompt issue resolution
* Support the IT Helpdesk in meeting agreed service levels and user satisfaction
* Participate in infrastructure and desktop projects aligned with the company’s strategic roadmap
* Maintain and develop LAN/WAN infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability
* Support and enhance our Azure environment, applying relevant policies and changes as required
* Champion IT system usage, promoting secure practices that improve business efficiency
* Uphold cyber security policies and practices to minimise organisational risk
* Contribute to the ongoing delivery of our Group-wide IT Infrastructure strategy
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Strong foundation in MS Office 365 configuration and administration
* Proven experience in a 2nd/3rd Line Support, Systems Administrator, or Infrastructure Engineer role
* Expertise in Microsoft Server support and administration
* Working knowledge of Azure Virtual Services, including VMs, VPN, and cost/consumption monitoring
* Experience with endpoint security, EDR solutions, and endpoint management platforms
* Proficiency in Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy administration
* Practical experience with PowerShell scripting
* Deep understanding of TCP/IP networking (DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN, VLAN, firewalls, etc.)
* Sound awareness of cyber security principles and hands-on incident response capabilities.
* Firewall management and configuration skills
* Ability to produce clear, concise technical documentation
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel between sites as needed
