Are you a patient, resilient, and engaging Behaviour Mentor looking for a rewarding role within an Alternative Provision school?
We are working in partnership with a well-established Alternative Provision in Oldham that supports secondary-aged students (KS3-KS4) who present with challenging behaviour and additional learning needs.
The school is seeking a committed Behaviour Mentor to join their team and support students in re-engaging with education through consistent behaviour strategies and positive relationships.
About the Role:
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a key role in supporting students both inside and outside of the classroom, helping them regulate behaviour, develop positive routines, and access learning.
Your responsibilities will include:
✔ Supporting students on a 1:1 and small-group basis
✔ Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour using agreed strategies
✔ Reinforcing and consistently applying school behaviour policies
✔ Supporting classroom engagement and learning alongside teaching staff
✔ Building positive, professional relationships with students
✔ Promoting emotional regulation, resilience, and positive outcomes

The Ideal Candidate:
✔ Experience working with challenging behaviour, SEN, or in a school-based setting (desirable)
✔ A calm, patient, and resilient approach
✔ Confidence following and implementing behaviour management policies
✔ Strong communication and teamwork skills
✔ Commitment to supporting secondary-aged students to succeed
✔ Relevant qualifications (Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or psychology-related degree) desirable but not essential
