Team Leader
£17.13 Per Hour + Company Benefits.
Full Time Hours – Night Shifts.
Location: Worthing, UK.
Salary: £17.13 per Hour.

Merriman Grange is a luxurious residential and dementia care home based in Worthing offering state‑of‑the‑art facilities, including 72 large ensuite bedrooms and 5 luxury care suites. The home also features luxurious lounges and dining rooms, an on‑site café bar, a cinema and a professional hair and beauty salon.
The Team Leader works hands‑on within the home and is responsible for the overall supervision and success of the teams being managed. The role focuses on ensuring excellence in resident care, providing outreach and support to families, retaining dedicated staff, and facilitating ongoing training and educational opportunities. The position is part of a succession pathway for those interested in advancing to Deputy Manager.
Main Responsibilities of the Role
* Co‑ordinate the resident assessment process, ensuring resident involvement in identifying needs and preferences and integration of all information into the care plan.
* Ensure all relevant information about each resident is written and communicated to achieve a person‑centred approach.
* Work hands‑on with the team to maintain appropriate levels of care.
* Deliver and manage the medication administration processes, ensuring robust auditing procedures and identifying training needs.
* Recruit and manage the care team through the Cinnamon process, ensuring efficient use of contracted hours and monitoring ongoing recruitment needs.
* Communicate regularly with family members regarding resident needs and progress.
* Manage team member absence and conduct return‑to‑work sessions with staff, with support from the Deputy Manager and home Administrator.
* Conduct and oversee effective handovers between shifts, keeping the Deputy Manager and General Manager fully informed.
* Provide daily coaching and support to Senior Care Assistants and Care Assistants, leading by example.
Essential Requirements for This Role
* NVQ Level 3 essential; NVQ Level 4 in Care or Registered Managers Award or QCF Level 4 Diploma in Management (desirable but not essential).
* At least two years’ experience in long‑term care or a similar industry.
* Experience in planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting care delivery.
* Experience working with older people.
