About us
This role is based in the SEND education service and will report directly to the Designated Social Care officer.You will work with a colleagues across the department and also with partner agencies including health and education settings. Hybrid working is available with some opportunity to work from home as well as from the office. Part time 18.5 hours per week, days and times to be confirmed.There will need to be some flexibility to meet the needs of parents and carers.
The role
This is a new role created to further improve our support in respect of children and young people with SEND.The role will ensure that the social care needs of children and young people are accurately reflected in their Education Health and Care needs assessments and plans and that families are aware of the support and services available to them. You will be contacting families directly to gather the relevant information, to provide them with advice and guidance and where appropriate making contact with other services on their behalf. You will be required to be up to date regarding services and support in the area and contribute to service development.
What's needed?
You must have experience of working directly with children and families, be educated to Level 3 standard with 5 GCSEs or equivalent including English and Maths at Grade C or above, have knowledge and understanding of children and young people with Special Education Needs and Disability and excellent communication skills.
