About the Role
One of my local government clients is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Leasehold Officer to join their Leasehold Services team on a temporary contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a housing professional with strong leasehold or property management experience to contribute to one of London’s most dynamic and diverse boroughs. The successful candidate will provide high-quality administrative and customer service support to leaseholders, ensuring that all enquiries, service charge matters, and leasehold issues are handled efficiently and accurately.
Key Responsibilities
As a Leasehold Officer, you will:

Act as the first point of contact for leaseholders regarding service charges, repairs, major works, and lease-related queries.

Provide accurate information, advice, and guidance to leaseholders in line with current legislation, council policies, and lease agreements.
*
Assist in the preparation, issuing, and reconciliation of service charge accounts and supporting documentation.
*
Maintain and update leasehold information systems and databases, ensuring all records are accurate and compliant.
*
Support the calculation and recovery of charges relating to repairs, maintenance, and improvement works.
*
Liaise with internal departments, contractors, and external partners to ensure leaseholder matters are resolved promptly and professionally.
*
Prepare written correspondence, reports, and case notes to support effective service delivery.
*
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Leasehold Services team by identifying and implementing process improvements.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:

Experience working in a leasehold, housing, or property management environment.
*
Knowledge of leasehold legislation, service charges, and section notices (preferred).
*
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle complex queries professionally.
*
Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
*
Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and housing management systems.
*
The ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
