Linux System Administrator** (Contract) Duration: 12 Months (Possibility for extension) Location: Camberley/Hybrid (3 days on site) Rate: A highly competitive Umbrella Day Rate is available for suitable candidates Role Overview As a key member of our small, focused team, you will collaborate closely with High Touch Patching Teams across the globe to implement a seamless "follow the sun" model for patching support. Your primary responsibility will be to actively reduce server vulnerabilities within our support scope by executing and overseeing server patch management activities, including targeting, scheduling, installation, governance, and reporting. Key Responsibilities: Execute patch installations during specified maintenance windows using various mechanisms, including BladeLogic jobs and custom scripts, while performing manual updates for complex systems. Conduct pre-checks to ensure successful patching events and post-checks to verify system stability and configuration consistency. Maintain regular communication with application production support teams, platform engineering teams, and level 3 systems operations teams. Troubleshoot and resolve patch and server failures, escalating issues as necessary.
