Bereavement Wellbeing Practitioner
Location: Watford
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (part‑time)
Salary: Rennie Grove Peace Band 5 – £29,970‑£36,483 per annum (pro‑rata)
Closing date: 14 November 2025 at 12 noon
Responsibilities
 * Provide emotional support to patients, carers, children and young people, and families dealing with life‑limiting illnesses or bereavement.
 * Triage referrals and undertake assessments for the Bereavement and Talking Therapies service.
 * Plan and facilitate individual and group sessions, using CBT/DBT and counselling techniques.
 * Deliver psycho‑educational workshops for staff, patients, families and carers.
 * Organise own day‑to‑day tasks, manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
 * Maintain a flexible working pattern, including covering for colleagues across the Rennie Grove Peace geographical area.
 * Work autonomously to plan, deliver, develop and evaluate the bereavement service in line with the RGP Strategy.
 * Act as an ambassador for Rennie Grove Peace within the community.
Qualifications – Essential
 * Qualified professional (Counsellor, PWP, Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner, DBT therapist or equivalent).
 * Registration with a recognised body such as BABCP, UKCP, BACP or NCPS (or working towards).
 * Proven experience with individuals and group work in psychological and emotional wellbeing settings.
 * Ability to deliver low‑intensity, skill‑based interventions (CBT, mindfulness, relaxation techniques) in a palliative context.
 * Experience managing caseloads and contributing to risk management.
 * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
 * High organisational and time‑management skills.
 * Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams).
Qualifications – Additional Criteria
 * Accreditation with a recognised membership body.
 * Experience with volunteers and community group support.
 * Resilient‑based supervision training.
 * Experience working in palliative care and with bereavement, carer, children and family groups.
 * Strong people‑management and training facilitation skills.
