Role Overview
The Events Sales Manager leads the commercial sales function, focusing on securing sales for conferences and awards events. The position requires a proactive sales professional with a strong B2B events track record.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute sales plans to achieve commercial targets.
* Proactively sell events – awards and conferences.
* Identify and qualify prospective clients through research, outreach, and networking.
* Prepare tailored sales proposals and pitch documents.
* Build and maintain long‑term relationships with potential clients.
* Serve as the main point of contact for commercial clients before, during, and after events.
* Manage sales pipeline and activity using the company’s CRM system.
* Maintain accurate records of all leads, conversations, proposals, and outcomes.
* Provide regular reporting on sales performance, pipeline status, and forecasting.
* Collaborate with marketing, events, and content teams to develop commercially viable programmes.
* Contribute to post‑event reviews and strategic planning for future events.
Essential Skills and Experience
* Minimum 3 years experience in B2B sales, preferably within events.
* Proven track record in meeting or exceeding sales targets.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills.
* Confidence in outbound sales activities, including cold calling and proposal development.
* Experience with CRM systems.
* Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
