An exciting opportunity for a Group Credit Manager has become available at our Head Office. This role involves leading Credit Control for our group of companies, reporting to the Finance Director. The position requires overseeing credit-related activities such as risk management, developing credit policies, and managing the team. This is an office-based role at our Head Office in Shirley, near the M42.
The successful candidate will:
* Have prior experience in a busy credit control environment,
* Possess strong financial understanding,
* Be capable of problem-solving,
* Be confident in leading a team,
* Be self-motivated and driven,
* Have excellent communication skills, as the role involves liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of the credit function.
Key responsibilities include:
* Act as the main contact with Credit Insurers, monitor insured limits, submit claims accurately, and assist with renewal negotiations,
* Organise and lead monthly meetings with senior management,
* Provide management information to highlight bad debts, debtor days, collections, and other reports,
* Manage cash collection for all Group companies,
* Ensure departmental systems and protocols are effective and enforced,
* Oversee the Credit Control team and manage their activities proactively,
* Handle credit applications and documentation,
* Make major or sensitive credit decisions,
* Control credit limits,
* Manage litigation and insolvency processes, pursue claims,
* Set and review credit policies and manage credit notes,
* Assess risks for existing accounts and new credit applicants,
* Maintain strong relationships across departments and with senior management,
* Review sales terms and conditions before approval,
* Visit customers and company sites as needed.
