The Accounting Manager oversees the daily operations of the accounting department and ensures the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of the company's financial records. This role manages general ledger activities, monthly/quarterly/year-end closing processes, the balance sheet reconciliation process and the preparation of management accounts and financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
The Accounting Manager supervises accounting staff, coordinates audits, implements internal controls, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making. The position requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and the ability to improve financial processes and systems to enhance organizational efficiency and compliance. This role will report to the Corporate Controller and will manage at least three teams of Management Accountants, Finance Officers and Finance Assistants.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management
- Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and internal reporting
- Manage balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and journal

Candidate Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role, with oversight of multiple companies, and proven experience in managing teams.
- Have the capability in motivating and mentoring accounting staff and developing strong relationships with key stakeholders and leaders.
- The ability to identify financial challenges, propose solutions and support decision making.
- Knowledge in accounting principles and practice is essential.
