Job summary
The Infection Prevention and Control Support Officer will be required to provide comprehensive administrative to support the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) team members in all of their functions across the Trust.
To design and maintain the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) surveillance databases.
To be responsible for the coordination, preparation and production of accurate meeting notes of key Infection Prevention and Control meetings.
To prepare IPC statistics, reports and presentations at various frequencies.
To be the IPCT first point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
Provide full and effective assistance to the team to ensure comprehensive support in execution of their duties.
1. Ensure distribution of relevant information as and when required on behalf of the Head of IPC and other team members.
2. Receive, sort and prioritise incoming and outgoing mail to manage correspondence.
3. Coordinate, or provide drafts for replies to emails, within the required timeframe.
4. Work closely with the Senior Prevention and Infection Control Nurse to achieve deadlines and targets for reporting mechanisms.
5. To liaise effectively and maintain positive working relationships with other staff and respond promptly to ad hoc enquiries and requests.
6. Execute email and telephone queries in an efficient, courteous, professional and timely manner.
7. Regularly and accurately update manual and computerised record systems.
8. Manage an effective follow up system to ensure that deadlines are met and actions are completed in a timely fashion.
9. Undertake full secretarial duties as necessary including; typing, minute taking.
10. Extensive knowledge of a full range of administrative policies and procedures, acquired through formal study and/ or equivalent experience.
11. Considerable experience of using a variety of IT systems and packages.
