Practice Type: This is an independent practice that is friendly and welcoming and is well-integrated into the community.
* The veterinary practice provides care for companion animals, farm animals, and equines. The team includes veterinary surgeons, registered veterinary nurses, and support staff dedicated to high-quality care.
* Services offered include routine health checks, vaccinations, dental care, surgical procedures, in-house laboratory diagnostics, microchipping, pet passports, and imaging facilities such as X-ray and ultrasound.
* The surgery operates Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, remaining closed on Sundays.
The Role: An independent, well-established mixed veterinary practice on the stunning Isle of Lewis is seeking a dedicated Mixed Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a breathtaking rural setting while enjoying a fulfilling and varied caseload.
Duties:
* Case Mix: Approximately 70% small animal, 20% farm, and 10% equine, with occasional alpaca and wildlife cases.
* Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9 AM - 5:30 PM.
* On-Call: One evening per week and 1 in 5 weekends (with the following Tuesday off).
* Team: Join a supportive team of 4 full-time vets, 1 part-time vet, and 3 nurses.
