Due to successful growth year after year, my client is looking for a General Mechanic - specifically to do Gearbox Fitting
* Location: Near Highbridge
* Salary: 38K to 45k DOE
* Job Type: Full-Time, permanent
* Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.00am - 5.00pm
* Company pension

* 28 days holiday including Bank
* No weekend work unless overtime at time and a half

Mechanic/ Gearbox Fitter / Technician Responsibilities:
* Removing and refitting transmissions and drive train systems including clutches and dual mass flywheels
* Performing diagnostic checks and road tests
* Preparing the workshop each morning and securing vehicles at close
* Maintaining a clean and organised work space
* Liaising with the office and workshop team
* Accurately following job sheets and instructions
Mechanic/ Gearbox Fitter / Technician Criteria:
* Previous experience of working as a Drive Train Fitter - preferred but not essential
* Experience as a Semi-Skilled Vehicle Mechanic - Minimum 3 years essential with IMI level 3 in hybrid / electrical vehicle repair preferred
* Strong mechanical knowledge
* Team player with a positive, can-do attitude
* Able to work independently and safely with minimal supervision
* Good communication and listening skills
* Reliable and punctual with strong attention to detail
* Must own a set of tools
* Ability to use diagnostic tools and interpret fault codes (especially for automatic systems)
* Excellent attention to detail and safety
* Physically able to handle heavy vehicle components
