About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and committed Support Worker to join our team, working under the supervision of our Service Manager. In this rewarding position, you'll work as part of a caring team to maintain a safe, supportive environment that meets the individual and group needs of our service users whilst demonstrating a positive, person-centred approach at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Person-Centred Care:
* Provide individualised support to service users consistent with our organisational aims and objectives
* Act as an enabler, working 'with' service users rather than 'for' them to promote independence
* Contribute to planning, delivering, and reviewing care plans, with potential keyworker responsibilities
* Support service users' decision-making processes whilst respecting their life choices
Daily Support Tasks:
* Provide practical and emotional support whilst maintaining professional boundaries
* Enable service users to access community facilities and therapeutic activities
* Collaborate with colleagues and service users on household duties to maintain a safe, clean environment
* Complete administrative duties and weekly timesheets as required
Safeguarding & Compliance:
* Ensure all service users' rights are respected in line with the Human Rights Act and Mental Capacity Act 2005
* Adhere to safeguarding policies to protect vulnerable people from all forms of abuse and neglect
* Maintain strict confidentiality and data protection standards
* Follow health and safety guidelines and organisational policies
Team Collaboration:
* Work effectively as a full team member, communicating efficiently with colleagues
* Participate in staff appraisals, supervisions, and team meetings
* Undertake training as directed and report equipment issues promptly
Working Pattern
This role requires flexible working arrangements to meet service users' needs, including:
* Weekend work
* Evening shifts
* Waking night duties
* Sleep-in shifts
