Overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice Electrical Design Engineer to work as part of the Controls Department based in Leeds.
Responsibilities
Key accountabilities for this role include:
* Learning from more senior engineers a new highly sought after skill set
* Working with a dedicated mentor
* Minor drawing modifications leading to more complex work based on skills gained
* Working with the shop floor & external team on projects modified as above to provide feedback on design
* Processing internal order amendments
* Processing purchase requisitions
* Liaising with the panel shop team regarding consumables
Required Education & Qualifications
* Essential
o A*-C in Math and Science at GCSE
o A keen interest in Electrical Engineering, Controls, Building Management Systems (BMS) and building services.
o The ability to think critically and objectively.
o Positive mindset towards learning
o Be on, or on a pathway, to gaining engineering qualifications.
o Initiative and can-do attitude
o Team player
* Desirable
o Previous experience with a CAD package
o Any extra curricular activities that have an engineering/design basis
Training
Training will be provided for the right applicant to develop the skills and knowledge required for the position. This will also involve attending college likely on a day release basis. Further details will be discussed with the candidate at interview.
