Leading the day to day running of the shift within the Transport department, with the support of the Transport Assistant Shift Manager.
Responsible for ensuring that the operation runs smoothly and efficiently and leading the effective management of driver colleagues.
Main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
12. Daily management of health, safety and colleague wellbeing
13. Follow Company Health and Safety polices & investigate and report accidents/incidents whilst on shift
14. Lead and develop a team of Assistant Shift Managers and Drivers
15. Lead a busy shift ensuring operational compliance and customer satisfaction
16. Achieve department KPI’s set by the business
17. Problem solving, overcoming obstacles that arise during the shift
18. Maintain professionalism, and promote a positive and respectful working culture when interacting with colleagues and business departments
19. Ensure all colleagues follow Company policies and procedures to ensure compliance
20. Ensure all legal compliance is adhered to
21. Monitor and control finances within the department
22. Drive business standards, ensuring headcount achieves customer demands and deliver on objectives set by the business
23. Be familiar with all aspects of legislation relating to commercial vehicles including tachograph and Driver’s hours regulations
24. Analyse systems and data to effectively to determine root causes
25. Monitor depot temperature control system
26. CPC qualification
27. Tachomaster and Microlise experience
28. Office and administrative experience at management level
29. A high degree of confidentiality, accuracy & effective communication
30. The ability to lead an effective team
31. Have the technical capability around systems and process flows
32. Intermediate level of all Microsoft packages
33. Ability to build effective relationships within & across departments
34. High level of problem solving
