Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Network Engineer to join the Infrastructure team within the Unified Communications Division at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The Infrastructure team plays a broad role in enabling communication across the hospitals, including telephony, mobile and unified communications services and infrastructure supporting IT services for these highly regarded hospitals.
Responsibilities
* Provide on‑site support for Unified Communications systems, including traditional TDM and VoIP telephony, voicemail, call logging, IVR, Contact Centre solutions, paging and call recording.
* Act as a point‑of‑escalation and technical support for the Service Desk Administrator, providing cover as necessary.
* Support all services and related systems on site: telephony, paging, radios, IT applications and desktop support.
* Deliver front‑line service desk support to users (phone, email, walk‑ins), create and track tickets to completion.
* Assist network engineers with routine maintenance of equipment and applications (patches, upgrades, troubleshooting, fault resolution), including out‑of‑hours work when required.
* Ensure all workflow into the team is logged, categorised and allocated to the appropriate work area.
Eligibility and Working Hours
Due to Home Office immigration rules, this full‑time permanent vacancy cannot be filled by individuals on a Student visa unless they meet one of the following criteria:
* Have applied for a Graduate visa.
* Have successfully completed their course and applied for a Graduate visa before the anticipated start date.
* Have received trust sponsorship for a Skilled Worker visa and will complete studies within 3 months of the anticipated start date.
Flexible arrangements may include part‑time working, job‑share, term‑time working and flexible start/finish times, depending on the role and personal circumstances. Please contact the recruitment contact to discuss required hours.
