Roadside Vehicle Technician
Location: Altrincham, Greater Manchester, UK. Pay: Up to £61k OTE. Full Time.
Join the RAC as a Roadside Technician. As part of our Patrol division you will deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You will start and finish your day at home, providing quick, confident solutions to members’ roadside issues.
You’ll receive:
* A market-competitive base salary of £36,400 with a realistic OTE of £61,000 and bonuses for top performers.
* Demand‑led shifts averaging 40 hours per week with optional overtime.
* Your own RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools and diagnostic kit.
Responsibilities include:
* Performing flat battery repairs, tyre changes and complex fault‑finding.
* Diagnosing and fixing mechanical, electrical and electronic issues.
* Providing outstanding member service and reassurance.
* Working independently from home and on the roadside.
What you need:
* Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent) with at least 2 years post‑qualification technical, electrical and diagnostic experience.
* Customer‑focused approach.
* Full UK driving licence.
