The department's core practice areas include investment, development, asset management, construction, planning, finance, dispute resolution and tax, and we are active across a wide range of industry sectors including alternative residential, logistics, office, hospitality and leisure, retail and life sciences.
We drive opportunities for our clients through our understanding of the complex policy landscape, through the leading role we play in shaping industry discussion on regulation and technological change, and by harnessing the power of technology.
Our use of proptech, from automation and visualisation tools to AI and structured databases, allows us to work faster and more efficiently and we draw on expertise from the firm's other specialist departments and our global network of connections in search of the best ways to bring people, capital and opportunities together. The Team
The Real Estate department's core practice areas include investment, development, asset management, construction, planning, finance, dispute resolution and tax. Our clients span both the world of corporate and private wealth giving us a unique perspective on the market. Our infrastructure of connections and investors coupled with our understanding of the complex policy landscape, are both highly valued by our clients. We find practical commercial solutions, underpinned by a tenacious determination to get the deal done. We offer a one stop shop for property services from acquisition and planning, through to construction, disposal, and asset management, encompassing both commercial and residential property.
Duties And Responsibilities
* Advising on a wide range of transactions including the acquisition and disposal of investment property and lease negotiations on behalf of landlords and tenants.
* Assisting on department-wide transactions including drafting and negotiating certificates and reports.
* Assisting with drafting and negotiating a wide range of transaction documents and carrying out due diligence.
* Assisting with the real estate aspects of 'big ticket' corporate real estate deals and financings.
* Exercise high standards of client care in a professional manner at all times.
* To ensure that all client work is progressed in a timely fashion and that the client is kept regularly informed on progress and costs.
* To ensure the confidentiality and security of all of the Firm's client documentation and information.
* Development of client relationships as well as relationships with contacts in the industry.
* Be responsible for achieving agreed levels of billing and time recording.
Skills/Experience
* 5-8 years PQE, gained in commercial real estate at a law firm with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 ranked commercial real estate practice.
* Strong academic record.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly and concisely.
* Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels and develop strong relationships both with clients and colleagues across the firm.
* Excellent writing and drafting skills.
* Strong technical knowledge and analytical skills.
* Commercial and driven with an interest in business development and marketing activities.
* Excellent attention to detail, listening skills and organisational skills.
* Personable and confident, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Resilient and calm under pressure.
