Ward 11 is a 25 bedded Trauma Orthopaedic Ward within the Orthopaedic Division at Arrowe Park Hospital. We are a dedicated, welcoming and professional team of staff.

The Housekeeper is an integral member of the team who will work alongside the Management and Nursing Team in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness of all Nursing equipment, both in use on the ward and in store.


Responsibilities

* Maintain a high standard of cleanliness of all nursing equipment, both in use on the ward and in store.
* Ensure all equipment and the ward environment is in good working order at all times and report appropriately if not.
* Maintain Health and Safety in the workplace and complete risk assessments and electrical checks as required.
* Order and maintain an appropriate stock supply of consumables to unit via Oracle, telephone, e‑mail or hospital supply chain.
* Support ward staff with the serving of food and drinks for the patients.
* Maintain patient confidentiality and perform clerical tasks such as answering the telephone and use of the IT system – Cerner.

DBS Information

Trust policy requires that the cost of submitting & processing a DBS application is met by the successful applicant(s). DBS costs are recovered via salary deduction following starting in post.

If the post you are applying for requires a DBS – Inline with Trust policy the cost of submitting and processing a DBS for successful applications would be met by the individual themselves. The amount would vary depending on the level required: Standard Disclosure £21.50 + £6.50 or Enhanced Disclosure £49.50 + £6.50 (please be aware the additional sum is an administration fee and may increase due to inflation). This will be deducted from your salary in manageable monthly instalments for up to 3 months following commencement of employment.

The Trust would encourage all post holders who require a DBS for their role to register with the DBS Update Service. You can find out more information and guidance on how to do this at DBS Update Service – GOV.UK.


Apprenticeship Eligibility
