Job Overview
Materials Planner role focuses on forecasting material needs, managing inventory, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to meet production targets while optimizing the supply chain and minimizing costs.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage imports and process relevant shipping documentation.
* Supplier KPI reporting (OTIF, VMI) and agree on non‑contractual supplier agreements (MOQs / Increments / Lead‑times).
* Review MOQs in line with demand projections and adjust as necessary.
* Raise supplier non‑conformances (SNCRs) in the Q‑Pulse system.
* Create monthly forecasts for A‑class/high‑volume items.
* Coordinate with Finance on materials that must be included in stock provision.
* Work with the site EHS team to dispose of rejected materials (Status 32).
* Create and maintain purchase orders in line with MRP (raise new, expedite, defer, cancel) for site direct and indirect materials.
* Escalate critical delays/issues through Supply Chain Management and Procurement.
* Define SKUs as ABC and calculate appropriate safety‑stock levels (considering SLOB / NWC / warehouse space).
* Control inventory levels, including management of SLOB.
Qualifications
* Experience in materials management or a related field.
* Experience with ERP systems such as ORACLE, SAP or MS Dynamics.
* Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Education to HND or Degree level.
* CIPS Level 3 qualification (or working towards) is advantageous.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
* Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
