We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a London specialist provider of care and support for Children and Young People aged 7 -18 years with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
As a Deputy Manager, you will be playing a crucial role in supporting the Registered Manager to ensure the highest standards of care for Children and Young People. You will be helping in providing a stable, safe, and nurturing environment that promotes the physical, emotional, and social development of the residents.
You will be providing comprehensive support for those with a history of mental health challenges, residential care for children and young people with learning disabilities.
Short to long term placements for children, or those with reduced capacity.
This role will involve:
* Assist the Registered Manager in the day-to-day management of the home.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant childcare legislation, policies and procedures.
* Support the Registered Manager with the implementation of the home’s Statement of Purpose.
* Line manage and support the staff team.
* Conduct regular supervision and appraisals.
* Facilitate staff training and professional development.
* Foster a positive team environment, encouraging reflective practice and continuous improvement.
* Assist in the management of the home’s budget.
* Ensure effective use of resources.
* Monitor expenditure and maintain accurate financial records.
* Participate in the home’s on-call system, providing support and guidance to staff outside of normal working hours as required.
This job role is not exhaustive, and you may be required to undertake additional duties to meet the needs of the home, so flexibility and adaptability are key in this role.
To apply, you must:
* NVQ Level 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services
* Relevant experience in residential care setting
* Experience of working with children with emotional and behavioural difficulties including those with special educational needs, learning disability and / or autism and other neuro-divergence
* Clean UK driving licence and the ability to drive with young passengers
