To ensure that activities records are maintained. Main Tasks: To get to know the individual residents and gain knowledge of their individual life story, experience and interests, and taking account of their current level of physical, cognitive and psychological ability, select personally meaningful activities that most engage that person. To think creatively to develop a diverse and engaging programme which includes individual hobbies through to group events. To maintain an activities calendar. To motivate and inspire team members to take part in activities with residents. To maintain full and accurate records of activities (for individual residents and groups) in order to monitor, record and evaluate individual and group participation and success. To liaise with the Volunteer Co-ordinator to support and promote volunteer involvement with activities and those undertaking work experience. To build strong external links with the local community General Requirements: To provide reports on activities. To attend appropriate training and development sessions. To maintain confidentiality at all times. To be aware of and comply with safe working practises as laid down by legislation and regulation. To uphold and provide equality and diversity in all aspects of employment practises and service. Person Specification: Ability to be self-motivated and work alone as well as part of a team. Energy & enthusiasm Excellent communication skills. Experience of working or engaging with older people. Understanding of person centred care.
