Embrace Excellence
This role is part of the wider Engineering function at Great Western Road, but is specifically part of the electrical engineering team, reporting into the Electrical Team Leader. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining and repairing Bottling Lines and their associated machinery, site infrastructure and facilities.
The shift pattern worked will be 4 day back shift (Monday – Thursday). Flexibility is needed for covering different shifts and out-of-hours working may be required.
Make an Impact
Reporting to the Electrical Team Leader your key responsibilities are:
9. The repair and maintenance for bottling hall machinery, site services plant and equipment (including spirit supply and whisky operations process equipment)
10. Resolve problems identified with site and whisky operations plant and equipment and fix as soon as possible.
11. Minimise operational downtime through effective preventative maintenance and detailed analysis of problematic areas by escalating to the Electrical Team Leader.
12. Work to an agreed schedule using ‘job-card’ software, recording details of repairs and maintenance completed and further works identified.
To promote safe working practices within the team, ensuring the safe and efficient implementation of compliance management processes, including use of the permit-to-work and lock off measures
Your Talent and Skills
To be considered for the role, you will be time served in an electrical discipline and be educated to at least HNC/HND level. You will have a background in high volume manufacturing with relevant experience, including PLC Fault finding and programming (Siemens S7 and TIA Portal) and electrical fault finding and ability to read electrical drawings. We're looking for someone with hands-on experience working with Variable Speed Drives (Danfoss/SEW) and Servo Drives (Siemens/Emerson). If you're familiar with rinsing, filling, capping, and labelling machines, that's a big plus. You should also have a good understanding of conveyor systems, palletising, and de-palletising processes. Being PC literate is important, as is beingflexible with shift work. We're a collaborative team, so strong communication skills and being a reliable team player will help you thrive here.
In addition, the following skills/experience are desirable:
13. Hazardous Area/ATEX Qualified. (COMPEX)
14. 18th Edition Qualified.
15. Competent at electrical installations using trunking/tray/conduit/SWA
