Senior Residential Support Worker – Children’s Home

Salary: £28,500 – £36,000 + Sleep-In Payments (£55 per sleep-in)

We’re recruiting for a Senior Residential Support Worker to join a growing and highly values-led children’s care provider in Nottingham, supporting young people with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), trauma-related needs, and mild learning or developmental difficulties within small therapeutic homes.
This organisation has been founded by an incredibly passionate leadership team with a genuine focus on improving outcomes for children and young people. Their homes are intentionally small, allowing for highly personalised care, therapeutic support, and stronger relationships between staff and children.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced residential childcare professional looking to step into a senior position within a provider that truly prioritises quality care, stability, and long-term development.
The Role
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you’ll play a key leadership role within the home, supporting the management team with the day-to-day running of the service whilst leading shifts and mentoring junior staff.
Responsibilities include:
* Leading shifts and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations
* Supporting and mentoring Residential Support Workers
* Building positive and trusting relationships with children and young people
* Supporting care plans, behaviour plans, and risk assessments
* Promoting positive outcomes through trauma-informed practice
* Completing accurate records, reports, and safeguarding documentation
* Supporting children with routines, education, activities, and independence skills
* Assisting management with compliance and preparation for Ofsted inspections
* Creating a safe, stable, and nurturing home environment
About You
* Minimum 2 years’ experience within residential childcare
* Experience leading shifts or mentoring staff
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (essential)
* Willingness to undertake Level 4 qualification
* Strong understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed care
* Confident, resilient, and emotionally intelligent
* Full UK Driving Licence preferred
