We are seeking a Software Engineer for our mechanisation team based in Antrim, supporting our global manufacturing operations.
In this role you will be responsible for evaluating user and process requirements to develop functional design specifications, code, debug and test software applications which integrate with production databases and equipment.
You will also be responsible for maintaining existing software systems, designing and implementing new solutions and creating technical documentation.
This role is on a hybrid working basis and will also require some travel to our global locations.
General Responsibilities
1. Key participant in the design and development of MES production applications covering the data pipe integrating shop floor to enterprise application with systems.
2. Working on Smart Factory Solutions as part of our Industry 4.0 Strategy
3. Taking part in modifying and optimising existing systems and development of new opportunities
4. Collaborating with various internal teams and external vendors on software projects
5. Creating reporting tools for end users
6. Providing production support for existing systems and processes developed by the MIS team
7. Training end users to use new functions and systems
8. Manage database backups and recovery procedures
9. Implement database security measures to protect sensitive information
10. Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
Experience / Qualifications
11. A university degree and 4-6 years of experience (i.e. Bachelors’ degree) or a graduate degree and 2-4 years of experience (i.e. Masters’ degree)

17. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
18. Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
19. Experience of two or more of the following T-SQ, VB.net, C#.net, ASP, ASP.net, SSMS, Rest API Creation, Agile, Cyber Security Protocols.
20. SQL server 2008R2 – 2022
21. Ability to create and deliver handover documentation and peer training/mentoring
Desirable Criteria:
22. MCSA & or MCSE in MS SQL
23. 3+ years' experience in developing MES applications.
24. Machine integration and data collection
25. Experience in data optimization and report creation
26. Proven track record of improving performance of database
27. Experience and understanding of SQL Database Migration, Restoration and Maintenance
28. Experience with data transformation and ETL (Extract Transform Load) processed.
