Chef - Learning Disability Care Home

As a Chef, you will be responsible for planning and providing daily nutritious meals for residents, ensuring food quality, safety, and budget adherence. You will also maintain health and safety standards and motivate your team.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Plan and prepare daily menus meeting nutritional needs and preferences.
2. Prepare appetizing, visually appealing meals within budget.
3. Monitor food stocks and order supplies accordingly.
4. Maintain accurate records of food orders and inventory.
5. Ensure food is stored, prepared, and served hygienically.
6. Train and supervise kitchen staff.
7. Implement health and safety procedures, including food handling and storage.
8. Keep the kitchen clean and organized.
9. Participate in staff meetings and training.
10. Build positive relationships with residents and families, responding to feedback.
Skills and attributes
* Proven experience as a Chef, preferably in healthcare or hospitality.
* Excellent cooking skills and knowledge of techniques.
* Knowledge of nutrition and menu development for dietary requirements.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Effective time management and ability to work under pressure.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
* Ability to train and supervise staff.
* Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Education and qualifications
* Food Hygiene Certified Level 2, willing to work towards Intermediate Food Hygiene qualifications.
* First Aid Certified.
* NVQ Level 2/3 in Food Preparation/Catering.
