As the public face of our properties, you’ll provide a warm, friendly welcome, give information about the property, answer questions and make sure everyone has an enjoyable and memorable visit.
Salary: £12.75 per hour
Duration: Fixed Term contract until 30th November 2026
Hours: This is a zero-hour contract, meaning we can’t guarantee a set number of hours each week. While we aim to provide a consistent work pattern, flexibility is needed as schedules may change based on business needs. We’ll try to give as much notice as possible. The role includes weekends and Bank Holidays but does not require evening or split shifts.
Working pattern is across 7 day opening, Monday- Sunday. Shifts may be full day or part day. We work on a rota basis where you'll be given notice of shifts in advance. This is a zero hour contract so hours will flex each week however you will typically work 2-4 shifts a week.
For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.

At Dinefwr, you’ll be part of a welcoming, hands-on team that believes heritage is about people as much as it is about places. Reporting to the Welcome Manager, you’ll join our team of Welcome and Service Team Members working across the Dinefwr estate within the Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion portfolio.
Dinefwr is an 850-acre landscape of parkland, meadows, and woodland, with stories woven through every corner. From Newton House, our 17th-century manor filled with exhibitions, gardens and a café, to the medieval deer park and the dramatic remains of Dinefwr Castle, this is a place where history, nature, and contemporary life meet. We tell these stories in creative, accessible ways — and we’re always looking for new ones to share.

What you'll be doing
Every day, you’ll help create meaningful, memorable experiences for our visitors. You’ll be a friendly and approachable presence, listening carefully to what people need and responding with warmth, understanding, and the right information to help them get the most from their visit. Whether it’s a family exploring the park, a young person visiting as part of a group, or a local community organisation using the site, your role is about helping everyone feel comfortable, confident, and genuinely welcome.
No two days are the same. You might be supporting a key event, welcoming visitors to Newton House, or contributing to activities that connect people with the landscape, culture, and wellbeing opportunities Dinefwr offers. You’ll also play a part in promoting support for the National Trust through Gift Aid, membership recruitment, and fundraising, helping ensure this special place continues to thrive.
There will be opportunities to support special events and to lead or assist with tours of Newton House, sharing stories in ways that feel engaging, inclusive, and alive.
