Senior Planner
Location: Worthing, Sussex
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
The Role
A growing UK-wide planning consultancy is seeking a Senior Planner to join its multidisciplinary planning team. You’ll play a key role in leading planning projects and delivering high-quality planning advice, helping clients successfully navigate the planning process from early appraisal through to application and determination.
This role is ideal for an experienced planner seeking to take greater responsibility, work across a variety of development types, and contribute to both project delivery and strategic planning outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage planning applications, supporting clients through all stages of the planning process
* Produce high-quality planning reports, statements, and supporting documentation
* Undertake research and analysis of planning policy, site constraints, and development opportunities
* Engage with local planning authorities, stakeholders, and project teams to support positive outcomes
* Provide strategic planning advice and contribute to planning strategy development
* Mentor and support junior planners and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team
About You
* Significant planning experience, ideally from consultancy, local authority, or development environments
* Strong understanding of UK planning policy, legislation, and development management processes
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Confident managing projects with commercial awareness and a proactive approach
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
* RTPI Chartered status (MRTPI) or working towards chartership preferred
