As part of the Transport UK Group, West Midlands Trains delivers around 1,300 train journeys a day, for more than 60 million passengers a year, across our two brands - West Midlands Railway and London Northwestern Railway.

As part of this investment, we are looking to recruit a Regional Manager on a full-time, permanent basis with requirement for extensive travel across the network and regular attendance in Birmingham Head Quarters.
Job Purpose
Are you ready to lead and inspire a large team in a dynamic and challenging environment? London North Western is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Regional Manager to oversee the operations of over 40 stations, manage a workforce of over 250 staff, and directly supervise 4 Area Station Managers. This role is crucial in ensuring our stations are safe, welcoming, and meet the needs of our customer and business commercial goals.
Key Responsibilities
* Leadership and Management: Provide senior leadership, vision, and direction to the stations team, fostering a proactive and engaged work environment.
* Customer Experience: Be the figurehead in your region, ensuring customer outcomes are at the heart of decision-making and driving improvements based on customer insights.
* Operational Excellence: Ensure adherence to safety, performance, reliability, and environmental targets, and manage special event plans and scenario-based contingency plans for service disruption.
* Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain effective relationships with industry partners, community groups, and local stakeholders, ensuring London North Western interests are represented.
* Financial Management: Deliver financial targets, manage budgets effectively, and ensure value for money through proactive resource planning and supplier management.
Job Challenges:
* Leading a large team during a period of change.

* Managing a geographically dispersed workforce with limited funding opportunities.
* Ensuring the delivery of the National Rail Contract (NRC).
* Managing customer disruption during major projects like HS2.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* Proven record in building, coaching, and developing teams at all levels.
* Experience in leading teams to deliver positive results and managing complex projects.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence at a senior management level.
* Experience in trade union negotiations and safety management systems.
* High level of numeracy and analytical skills.
* Self-motivated with a passion for innovation and change.
* Ability to lead change and a passion for innovation.
* Proven track record of delivering targets and projects within budget and on time.
